I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather and patronizing all of our restaurants and businesses downtown. Our downtown district has recently implemented a new policy called "Morristown Safe Place". The program, which allow residents and visitors of Morristown, who feel as if they are experiencing a an anti-LGBTQ hate crime and need the police, to enter these businesses and ask for help.
Our Mayor and Council meetings are open to the public and we suggest that you attend a meeting if you have any questions, comments or concerns about anything regarding the Town of Morristown. The next Town Council meeting will be on May 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, located at 200 South Street.
The past few weeks have been filled with events all around Morristown, including the Clean Communities Spring clean-up, Arbor Day tree plantings, and the Morristown National Little League Opening Day. Our environmental events provide an important message to help keep the streets of Morristown clean, with the help of Public Works and Property Maintenance to seek public compliance to Town Code. On Saturday, April 21, the opening day of our Little League was held, marking the beginning of baseball and softball season. I was honored to be able to throw out the first pitch and I am proud to see how much this program has grown over the years. I look forward to the events we have in the upcoming months and I hope to see you all supporting our community.
