ROCKAWAY, NJ – The eighth-seeded Morristown High School softball team fell to top-seeded Morris Knolls, 10-0, in five innings in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 tournament on May 20 at Morris Knolls High School.

Morris Knolls scored three runs apiece in the third, fourth and fifth inning. Carley Mahan hit a two-run home run for Morris Knolls. Kayla Turcios pitched a one-hitter for the top seed. She struck out six in the circle.

The Colonials’ lone hit came off the bat of Molly Sibona. Morristown committed four errors and Morris Knolls had a 9-1 advantage in hits.

Morris Knolls will play either fourth-seeded Livingston or fifth-seeded Mount Olive in the North 1, Group 4 semifinals. Morris Knolls met Mount Olive in the Morris County Tournament final.

Morristown concludes its season at 9-7.
