MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Morristown Colonials rebounded from their MCT semifinal loss with a definitive 17-7 win over Roxbury on Tuesday afternoon.
Following a rocky start in which the Roxbury Gaels took an early 3-2 lead, the Colonials took over and scored 11 unanswered goals. The Roxbury Gaels never retook the lead.
Callie Sundin led the offensive production with 5 goals. Nicole Ferrara, Sarah Grace Plott, and Annika Begley all tallied three goals. Ava Plott added a score. Also contributing to the offense were Victoria Ferrara, Shelby Clarke, Sarah Chupak, Mackenzie Siverson, Logan Heher, and Rachel Langenohl.
The Colonial defense of Linnea Begley, Grace Godfrey, Tara Goldhirsch, and Kei Murphy had a solid day, causing turnovers and scooping up many lose ground balls. Goalie Amelia Drake registered 6 saves.
Morristown will look to use this win as momentum in their Senior Day game at home this Thursday at 4:30 against Columbia.
