MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - Election officials in Morris County are looking for individuals to work at the polls for this year’s primary election June 2 and the general election Nov. 3.
Any Morris County resident who is a registered voter and who is able to read and write English may apply.Title 19 of New Jersey election law requires than an individual complete a two-hour mandatory training class before working the polls.
An election worker must report to the assigned polling place at 5:15 a.m. on Election Day and prepare the polling place for voting, which begins at 6 a.m. While the polling place is open, an election worker must verify that voters are registered in the district, maintain order at the polls and demonstrate the voting process to voters upon request. The worker must also close the polling location at 8 p.m. or when all voters in line have voted. Compensation for the day is $200.
