MORRISTOWN, NJ - Tomorrow marks the first day of fall. Gone are the days of lounging around the pool and playing all day with friends. School has resumed and students have immersed themselves in their studies and homework.
Before school began, employees at Realogy donated more than 120 backpacks with breakfast foods and to-go items to the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center. Realogy, with headquarters in Madison purchased backpacks which they distributed to their employees with a list of needed items. The employees and their families filled the backpacks which were then distributed to clients at the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center.
A second van was filled to capacity with additional donated groceries needed by the Soup Kitchen that couldn’t fit into the backpacks.
"Realogy came up with the idea about 4-5 years ago and has been doing it ever since. It has become essential to the Soup Kitchen and we have come to depend on their backpack drive where they collect over 100 stuffed backpacks", said Marla Drury Director of Development/Community Outreach for Community Soup Kitchen. "It is like Christmas as the Soup Kitchen when they arrive".
