MORRISTOWN, NJ - The National Weather Service has indicated that Morristown and surrounding towns are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8pm Monday evening. The area could see hazardous conditions including hail, damaging winds, and lightening between 2:30pm and 8:00pm.
"The storm off to our west is moving east around 30mph and is currently producing golf ball size hail and 60 mph winds", stated Jeffrey S. Paul Director, Office of Emergency Management. "The main concern with these storms will be the potential for damaging wind gusts and large hail".
The Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the situation and TAP into Morristown will provide updates as applicable.
