MORRIS TOWNSHIP – It should come as no surprise by this point, but the Morristown boys soccer team continued to barrel towards the Morris County Tournament final on Sunday afternoon.
The Colonials clubbed Kinnelon, 4-0, in quarterfinal round action at Greystone Park to improve to 11-2 on the campaign.
Second-seeded Morristown got two goals in each half in advancing to next weekend’s semifinals at Randolph. The Colonials will face the third-seeded Rams—3-1 winners over Jefferson in their quarterfinal—and will have the unfortunate luck of playing their old IHC-Iron Division rival on its home field. Neutral site locations for the semifinals and finals were determined in the offseason.
Aaron Castillo, Edwin Hernandez, Graydon Rogers, and Phil Tani all put the ball in the back of the net for Morristown. Meanwhile, keeper Doug Davies had a relatively easy day to earn the shutout, only turning away two Colts shots.
