MORRISTOWN, NJ - The 3rd Annaul Morristown Library Photo Contest is underway. All amateur photographers are invited to submit photos for the contest which will run through September 30. The winner will be announced November 7 at 7pm at the library's lower level meeting room
The contest, hosted by the Northern Jersey History & Genealogy Center aims to celebrate the community through the art of photography and contribute to the library's local history picture collection.
This year's contest must feature a Morristown or Morris Township business. Photos can be of an interior or exterior place of business and should be taken between July 1, 2018 and September 30, 2018. To qualify, all entries must be submitted by October 5. Photographers can submit up to five high resolution digital images.
The rules of the contest state that the photographer must be an amateur photographer. Entries must include the date the photo was taken as well as the photographers names, contact information and location that the photo was taken. All entries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Awards will be based on artistic excellence and historical value, state the library. One award will be given to the best Morristown photograph and one to the best Morris Township photograph. Awards include a $50 gift certificate to the Jockey Hollow Bar and Kitchen and a $50 gift certificate to 70 South Street Gallery.
