MORRISTOWN, NJ – The Morristown swimming program had far too much firepower for Summit on Wednesday evening.
The boys are now 12-1 after a 110-60 demolition of the Hilltoppers, and the girls team reached a double-digit win total at 10-1 with a 107-63 victory.
Led by a pair of individual victories from Tommy Cromie in the 100-meter butterfly and 200-meter freestyle races, the Colonials boys team won 10 of 11 events. Michael Macchia (200-meter inter-medley,), Owen Breslin (100-meter freestyle,) and Dennis DeLargy (50-meter freestyle) all won shorter distance events in this meet.
Junior Justin Viotto took home a distance race victory with a 4:18.89 time in the 500-meter freestyle.
In the girls meet, Morristown won 8 of 11 events, but still managed to comfortably defeat their Union County opponents by more than 40 points. Grace Miller won the 200-meter inter-medley and 500-meter distance freestyle race to highlight individual performances.
Emily Skilton won the 50-meter freestyle sprint race with a time of 27.70.
