MORRISTOWN, NJ - After a long anticipated wait, The Salad House of Morristown is set to open on Monday. Owner, Joey Cioffi greets customers who wander in and smiles as he receives an artichoke arrangement from well wishers. Employees laugh and smile as they are getting ready for the big day. It is understandable why some refer to this as "a fun place to work".
“I am excited to be opening our second store in Morristown. We have customers who would drive 20 minutes from Morristown to Millburn just for our salads”, said Cioffi. “They told me that there is no place for a healthy casual salad where they live.
“Your body is like a fine automobile, if you put cheap poor quality gas in it, you will save a little now but pay for it later. Same goes for the food you eat”, stated Antonio Cioffi, owner of Cioffi’s in Springfield. With a motto of “Eat Well To Live Well”, Cioffi’s has been successfully serving its customers for over 35 years.
Cioffi Sr taught his son well. Joey Cioffi, owner of The Salad House of Millburn and now of Morristown, believes that “healthy eating should be a quick and easy process”.
The menu boasts salads such as a Classic Caesar Salad, a Man Salad, a Greek Salad, and a Lady Salad just to name a few. (Click here to see the entire menu )
“My favorite is the Apple Walnut Salad”, said Cioffi. Balsamic Dressing is recommended to accompany the fresh romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, apples , crumbled blue cheese, walnuts, and craisins.
In addition to menu items, customers can tap into their creative side and make their own salad or wrap. Customers can choose their own greens , toppings, fruits, cheeses, protein and fish. There is a large selection of dressings to top each creation. Choose from favorites like Balsamic, Ranch and Honey Mustard to those that are more intriguing such as Cucumber Wasabi, Chipotle Pepper, or Asian Sesame Ginger. (Click here for a full list of items)
“The great thing about this is that customers can fill out the paper and check the box to keep the salad or wrap on file”, said Cioffi. “People can call ahead and their salad will be ready and waiting for them”.
While the focus of the restaurant is salads, it is not the only option on the menu. There are smoothies, specialty sandwiches, wraps and a kids menu.
“This is a fun place to come and eat”, smiled Cioffi. “Morristown is a town that cares about health and wellness so I thought it would be a perfect location for us”.
