MORRISTOWN, NJ. - A fashion showing showing period clothing and undergarments will take place at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum Mansion on Sunday September 10 at 1pm.

From tight corsets and massive crinolines, to bustles and bum-rolls, learn about the dangers and delights of some of history’s most controversial and interesting garments. For centuries, women were willing to go through torturous processes just to get dressed, or have the perfect body. Since dieting and exercise didn’t always yield the desired results, Victorian women took a different, and often dangerous approach, for a quick fix. Models dressed in period clothing display and discuss the sometimes torturous process of getting dressed in the 19th century.

The fashion show takes place each hour, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Reservations are required.  For more information and reservations,  visit morrisparks.net or call 973.285.6550.
