MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Town of Morristown will open cooling centers for residents due to the high temperatures hitting the area. The town has opened the Morristown Fire House and The Morristown Senior Center for residents.

Cooling Centers will be open beginning Tuesday August 7 through Saturday August 11.

The Morristown Fire House, 161 Speedwell Avenue will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30pm to 8:30am. In addition to the firehouse, the Morristown Senior Center at Town Hall will be open from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Tuesday through Friday.

The Town is reminding residents that the high heat is dangerous as well as uncomfortable. They are asking residents and community members to take precautions to keep as cool as possible throughout the warm summer months. If possible, stay out of the sun, avoid strenuous activity, drink plenty of water and wear lightweight clothing.
