MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morristown High School senior student athletes Kyle Beyer and Abby Schubiger signed national letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level at a signing ceremony held Wednesday morning at the school.
Beyer, who always knew he wanted to go to a service school, has accepted an invitation to play lacrosse at West Point. "I have been playing lacrosse since I was in third grade, and I am lucky to have the West Point coach notice me," said Beyer. "I will always remember my time at Morristown. I have created lasting bonds with my teammates. It has been so much fun."
Schubiger, who has been playing basketball since kindergarten, will play basketball for Colgate University. "I chose Colgate because it was a good fit for me as a student-athlete." When asked what she would tell other students who are pursuing their dream, she said, "Don't be discouraged by anyone or anything and never give up."
