MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morristown High School seniors Kathleen Merritt and Priya Sapra were among the students honored by the Mayo Performing Arts Center as Music Students of the Month for March. Students from schools based in Morristown, Parsippany, Chatham, Jefferson, Kinnelon and Rockaway were recognized for their achievement as Outstanding String Players prior to the March 24 performance by Eroica Trio.

"Kathleen has been an outstanding member of the Morristown High School Orchestra for four years", said Norma Davis. "She is a role model to her peers, motivated to learn, and industrious. Kathleen has been a member of the select Chamber Orchestra/String Ensemble for four years and has shared her talents at numerous school and community events such as CareOne, the Morris County Courthouse, and the Intergenerational Prom. She has performed with Priya, another honoree this evening, at the Solo and Small Ensemble concerts since freshman year. They are both members of Camerata, the most advanced string ensemble at Morristown High School".

Davis also nominated Priya Sapra and said, "Priya has been an outstanding member of the Morristown High School Orchestra for four years. She is eager to learn, dedicated and motivated. She is a violin section leader in the Orchestra and a role model. She has been a member of the select Chamber Orchestra/String Ensemble for four years and has shared her talents at numerous school and community events such as CareOne, the Morris County Courthouse, and the Intergenerational Prom. She has performed with Kathleen, another honoree this evening, at the Solo and Small Ensemble concerts since freshman year. They are both members of Camerata, the most advanced string ensemble at Morristown High School".
