MORRISTOWN, NJ- Authorities have announced that the body found on Tuesday night at Fort Nonsense was that of a 52 year old male. The cause and manner of death are still pending. The police have stated that they believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
Park Rangers were notified of a possible deceased male in the area of Fort Nonsense Park just before 8pm. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
Fort Nonsense was constructed in 1777 when General George Washington ordered a fort bordering Morristown so that "it may serve as a retreat in case of necessity". The British never made an attack and the fort was never used. Fort Nonsense is open to visitors from 8am until sunset.
