SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Further information has become available from New Jersey Transit regarding the train that hit a pedestrian earlier this afternoon.

A New Jersey Transit spokesperson advised that at approximately 12:30 p.m., a Morris and Essex NJ Transit Train #6625 which had departed Penn Station New York at 11:46 a.m. and was due to arrive in Dover at 1:15 p.m. struck and fatally injured a female trespasser at the Mountain Station in South Orange. 

NJ Transit further stated there were no reported injuries to the approximately 300 passengers and crew on the train. At this time service has been resumed with approximately 30 minute delays. New Jersey Transit Police are investigating the incident.
