MORRISTOWN, NJ – The Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) raised $100,000 at its Garden State of Mind Weekend event. The funds raised will benefit the Women’s Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center.
“We are grateful to the Women’s Association for their ongoing support of the Women’s Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center,” said Dr. Daniel Tobias, director of gynecologic oncology at Morristown Medical Center. “Their generous pledge will benefit four key areas at our Cancer Center as we continue to focus our efforts on superior cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.”
The dual-event fundraiser began on Friday, June 10 with a “Farm to Table Supper” hosted at Fairfield Farm, an historic estate in the Somerset Hills and home to Katie and Don Dahler. Dahler is a correspondent for CBS News, an award-winning journalist and author.
More than 250 guests enjoyed an outdoor dining experience featuring seasonal, local food prepared by New Jersey’s most notable chefs, paired with a selection of fine wines.
On Saturday, June 11, WAMMC’s “Secret Garden Tour” offered guests an opportunity to visit four of Morris County’s most beautiful properties designed by the area’s top landscape architects.
“We are proud to support Morristown Medical Center’s ongoing efforts to advance women’s health in the fight against cancer, and equally proud of all of our volunteers who helped make this fundraiser in support of this worthwhile cause a great success,” said Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center President Mary Courtemanche.
