GLADSTONE, NJ - Over 200 women from Morris and Somerset County attended the 10th Annual Women's Day on October 16. Sponsored by Homeless Solutions, the event raised over $65,000 funds for homeless families.
According to Homeless Solutions, these funds are critically needed in helping shelter guests ensure their children are safe and secure while they look for permanent jobs and stable housing,
Held at the Hamilton Farms Golf Club in Gladstone, attendees were able to choose a morning exercise of Golf, Yoga, Pilates, a Boxing Circuit, The Bar Method, 5K Run or a Power Walk. The morning activities were followed by a gourmet lunch, raffles, and services from Depasquale the Spa.
“This is my sixth year attending Women's Day with each year being better than the last. It was a fantastic, fun-filled day that resulted in Homeless Solutions raising record-breaking funds to support homeless families," said board member Sarah Canberg.
The specific fundraising focus of the event was childcare, which the organization believes is "an expensive, yet critical need, which enables parents to work in order to save money and gain a life of independence".
