Meet Alice, an adoptable Eleventh Hour Rescue dog who is looking for her second chance at a forever home! Alice was adopted as a puppy and returned to Eleventh Hour Rescue as an adult. Unfortunately, she was returned to the rescue very fearful and timid around new people. Since coming back to us, she spent some time at our kennel in Randolph and then a temporary foster home before spending two months in training. She now needs a patient foster or adoptive home that will continue to build on her training and help her learn to trust.
Alice is a loving, young, playful bundle of joy and energy who would love to find herself a home where she can run and play. She's always giving kisses and exploring or playing with toys. She is a perfect companion for long walks and outdoor activities. She would do best with an owner who'll keep her active, engaged and exercised, and would not do well if left alone without things to do for long periods of time.
Due to unknown circumstances in her past home, Alice can be fearful of new people and will require more than one meeting with a potential adopter. Children should be respectful and in their upper teens or older, only.
From a previous foster: Alice does well with people and dogs she's familiar with and needs very slow introductions to strangers and new environments. She is a very active, happy girl but can be skittish or anxious when meeting new people and dogs, so slow introductions or an owner with energetic dog or breed experience would be a plus. Alice is good on leash, will sleep in her crate, and is house-trained. She knows some commands — Sit, Stay, Pull, Hold & Come. She loves car rides & swimming when given the chance, too!
Alice is a 2-year-old jack russell terrier/beagle mix who weighs about 20 pounds.
