MORRIS COUNTY, NJ –  People in Morristown might get to see New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) jets pass overhead today during an “Air Force Salutes Flyover.”

The planes, from the NJANG’s 177th Fighter Wing and 108th Air Refueling Wing are planning to fly over 14 sites across the state as a tribute to medical workers fighting COVID-19. 

The published route for the tribute might bring the planes within viewing distance of Morristown.The aircraft are planning to go over the COVID-19 testing site at Bergen Community College in Paramus at about 11:51 a.m. and then swing west and south en route to Veteran’s Haven North in Glen Gardner.

The flyovers are taking place “to honor the men and women working on the front lines during the 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic,” said the NJANG. “The flyover will feature three F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 177th Fighter Wing and a KC-135R Stratotanker from the 108th Wing.”

The posted itinerary shows the planes making their first flyover, above Sea Girt, at 11:30 a.m. and their final pass, over the Atlantic City Convention Center about an hour later.

• Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital – 12:13 p.m.

• U.S. Coast Guard Training Center – 12:27
