NEW JERSEY - While the number of positive cases of COVID-19 still continue to climb across the state, Governor Phil Murphy shared some good news with residents Monday evening.

"For the 24-hour period ending 10:00 PM last night (Sunday April 12), 556 New Jerseyans were discharged", said Governor Murphy. "We celebrate this with them and their families – their successful battles against #COVID19 give us continual hope for our larger war against this enemy".

On Friday April 10, Murphy announced that 682 patients throughout the state were discharged from area hospitals.

Even with the good news, Murphy is stressing that residents need to continue practicing social distancing.

"We’re already weeks into this and we have many more ahead of us", he said. "We simply cannot get complacent. We can’t let our vigilance slip".
