MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - In an email to residents, the Morris Plains Recreation Department announced that the recreation commission has made the decision to cancel the Borough's 2020 summer recreation programs and camp.

"After careful consideration of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), NJ State Department of Health, guidelines issued by Governor Murphy, and many conversations between Mayor Karr and the Recreation Commission, the difficult decision was made to cancel the Borough's 2020 summer recreation programs and camp", stated Karleen Leahey, Recreation Director. "Unfortunately, the guidelines are too stringent and costly for the Borough to implement in a short period of time".

"We know that our children were looking forward to joining us this summer, but for the health and safety of all, we felt it was best to cancel", Leahley continued. "We want to thank you for your support and understanding. Looking forward to seeing you next year".
