Friends Book Sale - On Tuesday Januray 16, 23 and 30 from 10am - 2pm and Saturday January 20 from 10am - 2pm

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes -  Enjoy yoga at the library. Patrons will experience the Krishnamachary, a tradition of Hatha Yoga on the second floor Gallery on Friday January 12, 19 and 26 at 9:30am

By the Book: A Morning Book Club  will discuss They May Not Meant To, But They Do, by Catherine Schine on Thursday january 11 at 10am. The Bergman clan has always stuck together, growing as it incorporated in-laws, ex-in-laws, and same-sex spouses. But families don't just grow, they grow old. Next month: The Six: The Lives of the Mitford Sisters by Laura Thompson.

An Evening Book Club on Tuesday January 16 will discuss the Baker's Secret by Stephen P. Keirnan at 7pm. After her kind mentor is arrested because of his Jewish heritage, a young baker's apprentice in Normandy engages in discreet resistance activities, baking contraband loaves of bread for the hungry using surplus ingredients taken from occupying forces.Next Month: The Life She Was Given by Ellen Marie Wiseman.

No Passport Required: 2018 Travelogue Series: Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday January 17 at 7pm - The Reference Librarians of the Morristown & Morris Twp. Library are an adventurous bunch! They love to travel and being true librarians, they love to share their knowledge with others. In the winter and spring of 2018 we will host a monthly travelogue series presented by our own librarians who have travelled widely over the past year.

Chess Club  will meet on Thursday January 18 at 7pm - A new class begins on the third Thursday of the month and runs through June. Meet upstairs in the F.M. Kirby Gallery. and enjoy friendly, non-competitive, short games of chess between players of all skill levels

Introduction to Japa Meditation on Thursday January 18 at 7pm - January is a great time to learn a new indoor health and wellness technique. Many people recently have been turning to Japa Meditation and mala beads for relaxation and spiritual fulfillment. It is very simple and offers uplifting benefits for yourself, mankind and the earth! Join us to learn how to use mala beads for Japa Meditation and to experience Pranayama (Correct Breathing) which complements this practice.

North Jersey Sewing Circle will meet on Monday January 22 from 6:45pm - 8:30. During this session, an overview of various construction procedures will be given that can help you attain more professional results. Easy-to-follow steps for cutting, sewing, and handling the fabric will be illustrated in detail.

Climate Change Documentary: How to Let Go of the World and Love all the Things Climate Can't Change - Part 1 will be shown January 23 at 7pm and Part 2 will be shown January 30 at 7pm. The documentary is a a deeply moving documentary about our changing environment.

Introduction to Tai Chi with Gang Huang on Thursday January 25 at 7pm - Are you interested in learning about the ancient art of Tai Chi? Join us for a demonstration and talk by Master Gang Huang, who specializes in helping novices learn this fascinating martial art form. Proficient in many styles of Tai Chi, including Chen and Yang, Master Huang enjoys teaching people about the many health and wellness benefits of Tai Chi and will lead us in learning some basic techniques.

North Jersey Sewing Circle is offering an Introduction to Sewing Workshop for kids on Saturday January 27 from 10am - 2pm. The sewing workshop is for boys and girls ages 8-12. We will show the basic tools of sewing and everyone will learn some basic hand stitches and how to use the sewing machine. All participants will make a cloth wallet with a closure – and success is guaranteed! Several Sewing Circle members will be on hand to help and instruct participants. All materials and tools will be provided. Class size is limited: please register here.

The movie; Dunkirk will be shown Wednesday January 24 at 2pm & 7pm. (Pg-13 and running time of 106 minutes) "Christopher Nolan (Memento, The Prestige, The Dark Knight) wrote and directed this historical film about the Dunkirk evacuation during the early days of World War II. When 400,000 British and Allied troops end up trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk, France, following a catastrophic defeat, a number of civilian boats set out to rescue them before they are decimated by the approaching Nazi forces." Light refreshments will be served.

Guide Dogs at work and your pets on Monday January 29 at 7pm. To learn more about this compaign come hear presenter Ginger Kutsch,  Advocacy Specialist for The Seeing Eye. She will discuss more about guide teams an how your pet should interact with guide dogs. The event is sponsored by MARDOG (Morris Area Responsible Dog Owners Group).

Post Downton Support Group: "The Crown" on Wednesday January 31 at 7pm; Don’t have Netflix? Still missing Downton Abbey? Join us for an evening of tea (lots of tea!) and sympathy as we talk about and screen The Crown, an original Netflix series which was a big hit last year and only just released on DVD.
