The Kringle Railway Adventure is a round-trip thematic holiday train ride for all ages produced by the Morristown and Erie Railway and the Whippany Railway Museum. The train ride was designed specifically to comply with New Jersey State Governor Phil Murphy’s Executive Orders 161 and 165 and CDC Guidelines.
The excursions begin on Saturday, November 28th, and run each weekend through Sunday, December 20 th. Tickets can be purchased at kringlerailwayadventure.com. The Kringle Railway platform is located at 7 East Frederick Place in Cedar Knolls, NJ.
“The most important thing for us is keeping our guests safe,” explained Event Manager Meri Larsen. “The train cars will run at 50% capacity, and all seating is in family pods of 4 or 6. All pods are socially distanced throughout the car. Masks are required for all staff and passengers over the age of 2 both on the event grounds and during the train ride. Each car will be sanitized in between departures. Additionally, we have been thrilled to see that some families are choosing to purchase entire cars to increase their socially distant experience.”
Jenna Gregson, Assistant Event Manager stated, “We are delighted at the opportunity to offer a fun and immersive experience for families to share during these challenging times. We tried to think creatively about the traditional elements families would anticipate at a holiday event. At the train station, Santa will be safely in the driver’s seat of his personal locomotive which is decorated for the season. Photo stations in front of the locomotive allow for a unique photo with the “big guy” while maintaining social distance.”
“Creatively I think we knocked it out of the park,” stated Production Designer Heather Ball. “Each car has a unique theme and guests are immediately transported to a magical place the moment they step into their train car.” Themed train cars include Candy Cane Lane, Silent Night, Blizzard Car, Present Palace, and Ornament Express. When making reservations, passengers can choose the themed car of their choice.
“Each pod has been equipped with a series of holiday-themed games and activities that have been designed to be played without ever leaving your seat,” Ball explained. “This truly immersive ride is an experience that includes holiday music, scavenger hunts and more.”
