MORRISTOWN, NJ - A free violin recital, hosted by Edward's Violin Studio will be held at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship on Normandy Heights Road on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 4:30pm
The concert will feature young and beginning violin students in short pieces ranging from traditional folk songs to Bach and Beethoven. It will be one hour in length.
“If you have never seen a small violin played by a 6 year old, this is not to be missed,” said Edward Obermueller, owner and founder of the studio. “It will melt your heart.”
A violinist for 30 years, Edward describes his teaching philosophy as holistic. Trained in both the Suzuki and traditional methods, Edward enjoys the spirit and energy of young players.
“The Suzuki method,” Edward said, “is the best one I have experienced for young players, because it gives them motivation and the skills to produce beautiful sound. Music should be something you look forward to.”
For those looking for a teacher, or who want to find out more about what the Suzuki method, Edward recommends this as way to start. “Attending a recital” he said “is the perfect way to check it out and enjoy a free concert at the same time.”
The recital is free and open to the public, with a reception following hosted by studio families.
