MORRISTOWN, NJ - The 17th annual Junior Police Academy, run by the Morris County park Police is now accepting applications for the summer academy. The program will run from July 6, 2020 through July 10, 2020 from 8am - 4pm. The academy is capped to 40 recruits, so it is important to submit an application early if your son/daughter might be interested.

The academy will be held at the Morris County Public Safety Building located at 500 West Hanover Avenue. All applicants must be entering grades 5-8 in the fall of 2020. Once accepted into the summer academy, all recruits are required to attend a mandatory orientation in June. Payment of $150 will be due prior to the orientation and is used to cover the cost of uniforms, equipment, lunches and program upgrades.
During this five-day program, activities include physical training, marching drills, detective work, practical exercises, mock motor vehicle stops, defensive tactics, and much more. Special guests have previously included the Morris County Park Police Mounted Unit and Motor Unit, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morris County Office of Emergency Management, and other State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies. There will also be two class trips, which will consist of touring the Morris County Correctional Facility and the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center.
