MORRISTOWN, NJ -  The 2019 Action for Distraction 5K race will kick off at 9am Saturday May 4 at Loantaka Brook Reservation in Morristown. The idea began after Zach Rice, a 10 year old from Long Valley spent two years in and out of hospitals with a rare sptic hip infection. He realized the importance of being distracted while being in the hospital and has now organized the 2nd Annual Action for Distraction 5K.

Residents are invited to come and support Zach as well as this year's Face of the Race, Morristown High School student Stephen Murray. All proceeds benefit the Goryeb Children's Hospital.

Murray, a senior at Morristown High School, was last year's Action for Distraction winner in the male 15-19 category. This year he is the 2019 Face of the Race. Murray is a runner and skier, a member of the Choral Choir and was inducted into the National Music Honor Society. He also works with a job coach at the Morris County Courthouse and with MetLife. Murray also has autism and will be speaking at the event.
