On Saturday April 6th the Fishawack District held their annual Pinewood Derby Championship at Alfred Vail School in Morris Township.  The competition was conducted by age groups with six champions crowned.  A total of 51 Scouts from 13 packs participated.  Fishawack district covers eastern Morris county and racers came from every town between Butler and Morristown.

Each year, every Cub Scout builds a Pinewood Derby car starting with a block of wood and a simple set of wheels and axles.  The Scout whittles or sands the car into whatever shape they choose.

Winners received a trophy and are eligible to compete in the Pinewood Derby World Championship to be held in New York City on June 30th.
