MORRISTOWN, NJ - Former football player and inspirational speaker, Eric LeGrand will visit the Morristown Public Schools to speak with students in the middle and high school. LeGrand, a defensive tackle at Rutgers, suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury in 2010 during the Rutgers/Army football game. Since his injury, he has spent time educating the community about spinal cord injury and living with paralysis.
“Engaging students to be the best they can be in the face of adversity with courage and perseverance, is a passion of mine, said Eric LeGrand “I believe that anything can be accomplished through hard work and determination.”
LeGrand will speak with Frelinghuysen 7th and 8th graders on January 31 and then on March 2 he will speak to Morristown High School freshman and Juniors as well as the football team. The program is sponsored by the the Morris Educational Foundation (MEF) through the McGuinn Family Foundation, Morristown/Morris Township Joint Municipal Alliance, Morris Plains Municipal Alliance and the MEF Student Board.
The Morris School District's ALL in program was founded in 2014 by Dr. Jessica Neu, Director of Pupil Services at Morris School District. The mission of the program is to ensure that all students belong and that human relationships are central in student personal development and growth. The speaking tour is sponsored by the Morris Educational Program with a grant to the ALL IN Program through the McGuinn Family Foundation, Morristown/Morris Township Joint Municipal Alliance, Morris Plains Municipal Alliance and the MEF Student Board.

These are qualities that we try to instill in all of our students”
The mission of the MEF is to enhance educational opportunities for the 5,200 students who attend school within the district.
