Girls are invited to have the same Cub Scout fun that boys have had for years. Cub Scout Pack 513 is the first pack in Morristown to add all-girl dens. Girls from all over Morristown are invited to join.
In Cub Scouts, children who are in the same grade are placed in dens together. Kindergarteners are Lions, first graders are Tigers, etc. up through fifth grade. With the addition of girls, Pack 513 will now have all-girl dens and all-boy dens. This will allow girls to experience the same Cub Scout program of Pinewood Derbies, campouts, archery, rockets, etc. but allow for girls to socialize with each other and for boys to have time with the guys.
Each den usually meets twice a month and all the dens come together for a pack meeting once a month. Den meetings are scheduled on days and times that the families involved agree on. Pack meetings are usually held monthly at Alexander Hamilton School
Upcoming events on Pack 513’s calendar include
- December - Holiday Visit to Sunrise Nursing Home
- February – Blue and Gold Celebration
- March – Pinewood Derby
- March – Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade
