MORRISTOWN, NJ - Parents in the Morris School District were reassured early Monday morning that a social media post that occurred on Sunday January 7 was not towards Morristown High School.

According to the school officials, a non-specific threat was made on a social media platform towards a school with the initials MHS for Monday January 8. After an investigation by authorities, the school indicated in the post was a school in Virginia with the same initials. According to police, the individual who made the threat has been arrested.

When communicating with parents, the District stated that "Morristown Police have assured us that there is no credible threat toward Morristown High School or any other school in the Morris School District".
