MORRISTOWn, NJ -  Prior to the Coronavirus pandemic, Moristown's downtown retail and restaurants were touted as a premier destination for many. Now retail businesses are shuttered and restaurants are struggling.

Gov. Phil Murphy signed Executive Order 104, which was designed to flatten the curve and minimize social contact. Restaurants are now only allowed to provide take-out, delivery and curbside pickup. Some restaurants have shut their doors, while others remain open.

A new idea has been started to help the Morristown restaurants. Its called "Order Out Twice a Week Stimuls Plan", thought up and created by Jeff Haag.

Haag, a Director of the Web, Social & Mobile CoE at Novartis, knew that the restaurant industry was going to be challenged during this time.

"I wanted to figure out a way to make sure they still had traffic just in a different model. In this case delivery or curbside pick up", said Haag. "I love this community and a big part of what I love is the number of small businesses especially the restaurants. I cannot think of many special occasions in our life where one of these establishments has not played a role".

Haag created a Facebook page dedicated to helping the restaurants. Residents can post where they got food or ask which restaurant is open. Restaurants can post change of hours, specials and photos and video.
