MORRISTOWN, NJ - A fundraiser for Jessica Hutchings, an employee at the Morristown Diner who is being treated for breast cancer has raised $12,000 as of Friday, according to the GoFundMe page.
Jessica was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2020 and COVID-19 is making it more difficult now that she has to quarantine from everyone; even her daughter, Gianna (11) and son, Jesse (2), Julie Trentch wrote.
"Jessica is (the best) mom to Gianna who is 11 and Jesse who is 2. Medical bills and regular everyday bills are not something that are going to go away just because she has cancer. The last thing any of us want is for her to have to stress about anything having to do with money", Trentch wrote.
According to the fundraising page, all money raised will go directly towards her bills and medical bills.
On September 10, Trentch shared an update saying, "today was Jessica's first Chemotherapy treatment! She did amazing! I am so proud of my best friend. This journey isn't easy for anyone involved but her positive attitude has certainly helped! THANK YOU again to everyone donating and sharing. We are all truly blown away at everyone's kindness".
The Morristown Diner shared the fundraising page and said, "many of you may know Jessica as she’s one of our very loved waitresses/hostess. She has just begun the difficult battle that is cancer. Please show her love and support in any way, whether it be an uplifting comment or a donation".
