MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Morristown community has been rallying around doctors, nurses, first responders and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now a Morristown resident, hospital employee and member of the Morristown High School community needs our help.
Darell Johnson, a Morristown High School employee who worked in the guidance department and a healthcare worker at Morristown Medical Center has contracted COVID-19. According to the GoFundMe page, he has been hospitalized since March 23. Due to complications, he has been on a ventilator and undergone a tracheostomy, the page said.
His medical bills are mounting. The hospital stay, even with insurance will cost thousands and the fundraiser organizer, hopes to raise money so that he won't have to worry about his financial bills.
As of today, $12,000 has been raised of a goal of $50,000. To help support Darell and his family, click HERE
"We want him to recover with his 4 precious children and family and to realize he is so so valuable to our team!!", wrote team organizer, Monica Kowalczyk. "We have set this up purely out of love and recognition for the person he is. Please donate to support Darell’s recovery and show him how much we care for him as a PERSON, FATHER, COWORKER, FRIEND, and as FAMILY!!!"
