MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Junior League of Morristown (JLM) is now accepting applications for the scholarships and grants. Since the establishment of the Scholarship Fund in 1986, the Junior League of Morristown (JLM) has awarded scholarships to more than 150 students, totaling over $250,000.

In 2016, the JLM introduced a new community impact area, focused on providing teens in Morris County and surrounding areas with access to resources related to education, life skills and basic needs to enable students to succeed through high school and beyond. 

Applicants in Morris and Sussex Counties can apply for the following grant/scholarships:

 A new scholarship for the organization will be a $2,500 Post-Secondary Education Assistance Grant. The grant is open to graduating high school seniors in Morris and Somerset Counties. The primary criterion for the new grant is a commitment to continuing education after high school and the ability to demonstrate how the JLM scholarship will further those goals. Strong leadership skills, academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, and work or family responsibilities will be considered, as well as financial circumstances.

In addition to the new post-secondary grant, the JLM will continue with its $2,500 High School Voluntarism Scholarship. This scholarship focuses on commitment to voluntarism and community service.  All applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college, university or trade school in the Fall of 2020.

Women over 40 years of age who are planning to attend, or are currently enrolled in, college or trade school after taking time away from school are invited to submit applications for thee $2,500 Woman Moving Forward scholarship. Primary criterion is a commitment to advancing oneself through education. Financial need is considered. Secondary criteria are academic performance and work or family responsibilities. Applicants must live in or attend school in Morris or Somerset Counties.
