MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Mansion in May 2020 Designer Showcase and Gardens will support the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center, announced the Womens' Association for Morristown Medical Center.
The 2020 Mansion in May will take place at Tyvan Hill in New Vernon from May 1 to May 31.
The Women's Association for Morristown Medical Center has been provided financial support to the hospital through the hospital's gift shops, the Bargain Box Thrift Boutique, the WAMMCC Network TV as well as the Mansion in May Designer Showcase. To date the organization states that it has raised more than $30 million to support the hospital.
The proceeds from this year's Mansion in May aims at expanding the current facilities at the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute to "meet current and future growth" with two new inpatient floors which will be added to the heart hospital.
Gagnon was established three decades ago after performing the first open heart surgery at Morristown Medical Center and, today, is a nationally ranked program serving thousands of patients each year, said representatives for the Women's Association. This unprecedented growth, which has elevated patient care, has also created pressing challenges. Increasing patient volume has outpaced the capacity to meet demand, they said.
“We are grateful to the Women’s Association for their support of our campaign to expand our Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute,” said Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, President, Morristown Medical Center. “This support will not only address Gagnon’s expansion needs, but will also help position it for the future – a destination of choice for superior cardiac care on a regional, national and international level.”
