MORRISTOWN, NJ - The statues on the Green have winter accessories.
With cold temperatures hitting the area, the Morristown Fiber Fairies have been hard at work, knitting scarves and hats and leaving them on the Green for those in need.
The beautifully woven hats and scarves are left anonymously and “with love” for anyone in need of warmth. This year, brown and forest green scarves have been placed on the statutes on the Green. Each piece has a tag attached to it that reads, "If you need this to help keep you warm, then it is now yours. Life is good. Pass it on."
The initiative aims to help those people who are homeless, living on the street or in homes with no heat.
“We hope that anyone truly in need of warmth will feel free to take a hat or scarf to help protect them from the cold. Our acts of kindness are small but they are heart-felt and sincere,” The Fiber Fairy stated on their Facebook page.
The Morristown Fiber Fairy believes in paying it forward with random acts of kindness as well an increasing the public's awareness of Morristown's homeless population.
