WASHINGTON, DC -  The United States of America will observe a National Day of Mourning on Wed. Dec. 5 to honor the 41st President of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush. 

In addition to all flags being flown a half staff, there will be closures in both government and the private sector. 

The United States Senate postponed all votes until after the funeral.

The United States House of Representatives canceled all votes for the week,

The US Supreme Court canceled arguments before the Court for the day. 

All Federal Offices will be closed, except for national security. 

The New York Stock and NASDAQ will be closed for the day.

The US Postal Service will not deliver regular mail. There will be limited package deliver to avoid backlogs during the holiday gifting season. 

Some banks will close. It is best to check with your financial institution directly.
