MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - The new year has brought new changes to the plastic recycling program throughout Morris Township.

Township officials have announced that only plastic containers coded 1,2 & 5 are acceptable. According to township officials, here are examples of acceptable plastics.

  • plastics coded #1 include water, soda, salad dressing bottles, microwavable food trays and peanut butter.
  • plastics coded #2 include milk jugs, shampoo bottles, butter tubs and yogurt tubs
  • plastics coded #5 included ketchup bottles, syrup bottles and some yogurt containers.
