MORRISTOWN, NJ - The 2020 season is beginning for local farmer's markets. With the pandemic causing cancelations and postponements, some were fearful that the Morristown and Morris Plains Farmer's Markets would have to alter their plans.
Good news! Both markets have announced opening dates.
The Morristown Farmer's Market will open Sunday June 21 and run through November. The market takes place in the parking lot behind Morris and Spring Streets from 8:30am - 2pm. This year will vendors and shoppers will adjust and wearing masks and will be asked to practice social distancing. The market will have a designated entrance and exit as well as limited capacity. All vendors will have hand washing stations.
Unlike past years, organizers said that pets will not be allowed and as of now there are no scheduled activities (games, or musicians, demonstrations).
The Morris Plains Farmer's Market will open Saturday, June 13 and run through October 10. The market is set up on Merchant's Block (next to the Model Railroad Club Building) from 9am - 1pm. Shoppers will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing. There will be no samples or tastings and pets are not allowed this year.
