MORRISTOWN, NJ - A severe weather alert has been issued for the Morristown area today, Wednesday July 22.  The National Weather Service is has stated that showers and thunderstorms are likely after 5pm. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain, they stated.

Temperatures will be at a high of 92 degrees with a heat index as high as 100.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue into the evening, said the authority.
