PediaSmart Soy Vanilla Beverage Mix is being recalled by Nature's One because milk is not listed under the "contains" label, said company officials in a press release. Through a routine document review from a vendor, the company learned that milk or a milk derivative was added to the product, they said.

The company stated that even though no milk allergen was detected during testing, labeling laws require milk to be listed on the label. No illness have been reported to date, but the company is recalling the product out of an abundance of caution. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product, they stated.

The product being recalled is PediaSmart® SOY Vanilla Beverage Mix is a powder beverage sold in 12.7 ounce (360 gram) canisters.
