MORRISTOWN, NJ - It’s time to clean out your medicine cabinets!

On Saturday October 26, residents can safely dispose of unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs at three locations in the Morristown area. From 10am - 2pm, residents can dispose of these unused, unwanted or expired drugs at the ShopRite of Greater Morristown (178 East Hanover Avenue, Morristown), Acme (690 Millbrook Road, Randolph) and Stop and Shop (245 Littleton Road, Morris Plains)

Operation Take Back is a bi-annual event coordinated nationally by the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Law enforcement agencies on the state, county, and municipal levels work together to host Operation Take Back across the nation, said officials. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office is partnering with the Morris Township Police Department, the Randolph Township Police Department, the Morris Township Police Department and the Hanover Township Police Department to encourage the public to properly dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications.

If you are unable to attend this Saturday's event, residents are encouraged to drop off medications at permanent drop box locations. For a list of all drop box locations, click HERE
