MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty provided residents with a daily update on Friday, May 15 while standing outside of Kilwins.
He reminded residents that Gov. Murphy opened the beaches as of May 22.
"The Governor has opened the beaches as of the 22nd of May", said Dougherty. "Follow the guidelines they put out for each community. I think it's a great opportunity for the state".
The Mayor reminded everyone that retail is open for curbside pickup. He also reminded everyone of the food drive happening this Saturday behind Town Hall. The food drive will benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry and is taking place from 9am -12noon.
"Let's have a big turnout tomorrow", he said. "Let's make sure we get food where it's needed".
He reminded people to wear face protection when downtown.
"I think the more we find out about COVID-19", he said. "There is so much we are learning about the virus. I urge people when they are out and about to wear your face mask. We aren't out of the woods yet, but it's definitely getting better".
