MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Town of Morristown held a virtual town hall meeting on Tuesday June 23. During the virtual event, Mayor Tim Dougherty provided updates concerning COVID-19.

Mayor Dougherty reported that there has been a 5 day stretch with no new confirmed cases in Morristown. It was emphasized that this was the result of social distancing, wearing masks, and regular handwashing. Residents were encouraged to continue maintaining these healthy habits and to check social media for other rules and regulations that need to be followed.

Mayor Dougherty also announced several (re)openings. This week, such new restaurants as Bistro 46 and Clean Juice Store will open on Elm Street and South Street respectively. Pools reopen on Saturday, June 27 th . Beginning Thursday, July 2 nd , restaurants can open at 25% capacity. On that same day,
playgrounds will also be permitted to reopen with guidelines forthcoming.
