MORRISTOWN, NJ - On Tuesday, May 26, Mayor Tim Dougherty gave a report at Morristown’s Town Hall Meeting. Due to social distancing guidelines, the meeting was held virtually over Zoom.

Residents were advised not to break Governor Phil Murphy’s executive order. Dougherty reassured that eventually things will reopen

“I know it’s tough; but, we’ll get through it together”, he said.

Graduation bans will be lifted starting July 6 with recommendations for how to proceed set to come out this afternoon. In the meantime, Dougherty encouraged residents to continue practicing social distancing. While people have the right to not wear a face mask, Dougherty believes that it is our right to protect ourselves Additionally, it was recommended that residents shop small as local businesses need the support now more than ever.

While Town Hall isn’t fully open, the tax office is open Monday and Friday from 9 am to 12 pm for property tax payments. Monday, June 1 is the last day to pay without recurring interest. Before entering, visitors will need to be wearing a mask and have their temperature checked.
