MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - A Mount Arlington man was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a three-year old, announced Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker, and Morris Township Police Chief Mark DiCarlo.

Thomas H. Meier has been charged with one count of sexual assault (second degree) and one count of endangering the welfare of a child (second degree), they stated.

According to authorities, Meier was employed as a teacher at Head Start of Morris County. On October 8, 2019, a coworker saw Meier engaged in an act of sexual contact on the three year old child, they said. The coworker reported the incident to staff and law enforcement.

Meier was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending an appearance in court.

The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
