MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ -   Multiple Morris County residents have reported that they received automated phone calls advising them that they missed jury duty and are required to pay a fine, said the Morris Township Police Department to residents.

These calls are fradulent, say police.

The scammers tell residents that they must  contact Chief Rich Rose at the Morris County Sheriff's Department Civil Process Unit and make arrangements to pay the fine, say police. Although Chief Rose does work for the Morris County Sheriff's Office, the calls and request for payment is not legitimate. Police are advising residents to not provide any financial information over the phone.
