MORRISTOWN, NJ - The fast moving storm ripped through Morristown on Monday afternoon causing several streets to flood as well as downing trees and wires.

Motorists should avoid the following streets:

  • Franklin Street is closed due to a downed tree in the roadway. The road is also flooded, said authorities. Those en route to the emergency room should find an alternate route.
  • Pine Street is also flooded. A vehicle was stuck in the rising water. Police have advised that the occupant is out of the vehicle, however the vehicle is underwater.
  • I-287 is flooded in both directions by South Street Exit. Motorists should avoid the area. 
  • The storm has caused wires down on King Street and Morris Street, police are reporting.
