MORRISTOWN, NJ -  Deonarini Jairam (38 years old) of Parsippany has been arrested and charged with sexual assault, announced Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker, and Morris Township Police Chief Mark DiCarlo.

According to authorities, the victim was walking in Morris Township when she was approached by Jairam and offered a ride. The victim agreed and entered his 2001 silver Toyota Solara where the defendant began touching the victim. Jairam eventually parked his car and offered the victim money in exchange for sex, said police. The victim refused and he then sexually assault her, they stated. During the assault, the defendant noticed law enforcement in the area, at which time he unlocked the doors and allowed the victim to exit his vehicle. He then fled the immediate area in his car, said police.

Although the identity of the defendant wasn't immediately known, however through investigative efforts, he was identified and arrested.

He was charged with sexual assault, promoting prostitution, endangering the welfare of a minor and criminal sexual contact. Jairam was lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
